Teton County Sheriff’s Foundation
Teton Valley is rural, but it is also growing. Its rapid expansion has stretched emergency responders nearly to their limit. Staffing at the Teton County Sheriff’s Office could not keep pace with the volume of calls they were getting and, in 2025, emergency response times had slowed to 30-45 minutes in certain parts of the county.
Teton Ridge Ranch Foundation awarded the Teton County Sheriff’s Foundation a three-year, $1.5 million grant in October 2025 to help the organization bolster its staff. The grant provides $500,000 per year for three years to support recruitment, training and retention for critical personnel in the Sheriff’s office.
Hiring new deputies will allow the Sheriff’s Department to reduce response times to 10-15 minutes, improving outcomes for residents across the valley.
The partnership will also help the department develop initiatives to improve call-ready alerts, dispatch coordination and housing assistance programs for first responders who want to live in the community they serve.
“We’ve made great strides as an office, but resources have always been the limiting factor. This investment allows us to focus on what matters most: people. It’s a game changer for the people of Teton County.” -Harley Wilcox, Chairman of the Teton County Sheriff’s Foundation.
